Why am I being shown members who don't match my criteria?

There are two types of profiles we suggest to you on the website or by email alert:

  • members who meet your search criteria,
  • members who are interested in your profile, despite not meeting your criteria.

In the first situation, the members generally meet the criteria you entered, but sometimes a search can be too focused and does not return many results. To boost your chances of meeting someone, we therefore recommend that you review the criteria you have set, focusing on the most important criteria.

In the second situation, these members have found your profile appealing or have selected search criteria that you meet. Even if you aren't interested in these profiles, give them a chance and reply to their messages. You might be surprised by who you could meet!

If you don’t see enough members who match your criteria, try widening your search by removing some of the specifics (e.g. hobbies, interests, lifestyle preferences).

By making these small modifications, you may unlock someone brilliant who you were previously filtering out!
